About Me

Maker at the pottery wheel in the studio

The maker

Hello, I'm Mara — and clay has been my second language for nearly a decade.

ASoc started as a corner of a shared studio and a stubborn idea: that the objects we use every day should be made with care, not stamped out by the thousand. I throw, trim, glaze and fire every piece myself in a small workshop on the edge of town.

I am drawn to honest forms and warm, earthy glazes — surfaces that invite a hand and improve with use. Nothing here is perfect, and that is precisely the point. A faint ripple, a pooled glaze, a fingerprint kept on purpose: these are the marks of something made by a person.
